Bernardsville
Bernardsville is yet another charming and scenic Somerset County borough with a population of around 7,800 residents. It’s primarily a residential area, with a mix of historic homes, luxury estates, and newer developments. The town features tree-lined streets, rolling hills, and beautiful parks, making it a peaceful and scenic place to live.
Bernardsville also has a quaint downtown area with boutique shops, restaurants, and cafes. There are a variety of dining options, from upscale restaurants to casual eateries, catering to a range of tastes.
In addition to its residential charm, Bernardsville offers a strong sense of community, with various events and activities throughout the year. The town hosts an annual street fair, holiday celebrations, and summer concerts in the park, bringing residents together in a festive atmosphere.
Bernardsville is also sought after for its top-rated public and private schools as well as its proximity to major highways and public transportation options. The NJ Transit train station is located right in the center of town, making it convenient for commuters to travel to nearby cities like Morristown and New York City.
I lived in Somerset County for several years before settling and purchasing a home in Hunterdon County 20+ years ago. I rented in Peapack-Gladstone for a couple of years and then was fortunate enough to move into a cottage on a stunning Bernardsville estate owned by one of my gardening clients. With all of the exciting history, stunning architecture, and beautiful parks, gardens and natural areas to explore, the area was easy to love. After moving to Hunterdon in the early 2000s, I continued to design and maintain gardens throughout Bernardsville and surrounding towns in Somerset County.
