Peapack-Gladstone
Peapack-Gladstone is a small borough with a population of just over 2,500 residents. The borough is known for its picturesque landscapes, historic homes, and diverse amenities.
Peapack-Gladstone is actually composed of two separate villages – both originally part of Bedminster Township – that were combined to form one municipality in 1912. The community is primarily residential with a small-town feel, and is home to several upscale restaurants, boutique shops, and art galleries surrounded by natural beauty and open space. The public schools in Peapack and Gladstone are highly rated, which adds to its appeal.
The very first home I rented when I returned to New Jersey from living in Oregon was not where I grew up in Monmouth County; it was in Peapack. With its historic charm, beautiful open spaces, and convenient access to transportation and amenities, I fell in love with the area. Over the years, Peapack-Gladstone has retained its small town charm and neighborly services and shops. It is still mostly rural with successfully preserved, magnificent open spaces, farms and wooded hills. It is within easy access to New York City by rail and major highways.
