Shrewsbury
At the heart of Shrewsbury is the Four Corners, where the aptly named, tree-lined Sycamore Avenue and Broad Street intersect. At this historic crossroads sit three historic churches and the 1710 Allen House, once a tavern in the mid-1700s with Revolutionary War history, and now a museum. Great shopping and dining can be found just North on Broad Street in The Grove and The Grove West.
Shrewsbury is perfectly located for when residents want a bit more excitement. The beach is just minutes away by car and getting to NYC is a breeze with plenty of public transportation options: the train, New Jersey transit (bus), or the commuter ferry from the Highlands. Neighboring towns also offer so many exciting opportunities for outdoor adventures, dining and shopping!
The town is a mixture of retirees, new families, and a lot of repeat lifelong residents who moved away for college and came right back to raise their own families. Although it’s a small area, home prices vary quite, starting around the $500,000 mark and climbing up to about $3 million.
